On International Children's Day, June 1, the ASEAN + Children's Festival 2017 was held in Hanoi, with the participation of children from seven ASEAN countries as well as Korea and mainland China. This was the first time that Korean youth attend the festival.

The festival is hosted by the Vietnamese TV station VTV, in collaboration with the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It ran from June 1 to 4. The festival was held for the first time last year. The aim is to promote exchanges among youth between ASEAN countries. This year, the event was expanded to become the ASEAN + Children's Festival with the participation of representatives from Korea and China.

Representing Korea was the children's choir from the Jeongok Museum. The choir introduced Korean heritage and had an exchange with ASEAN youth.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Hanoi and Seoul, and to honor the cultural exchanges that take place between Korea and ASEAN, the festival provided a good opportunity for Korean youth to understand more about heritage and exchanges with future generations of Vietnamese in general and with ASEAN more broadly.

The Korean children's choir performed classical music and traditional Korean songs as part of the opening ceremony. It was a great performance and the audience was really impressed.
